I was in the process of changing him to my PTC when the first pitch was thrown so I had to keep him as my backup. But he deserved it. What a game.

Makes you wonder what might've happened last night had Ozzie not deemed it a "blowout-so-let's-get-the-benchwarmers-some-at-bats" game and subbed Gload in for Dye. Ross made two of the final six outs, one of them while swinging for the fences trying to go back-to-back-to-back with Thome and Konerko in the 8th.

Jermaine Dye 3
Devil Rays 2
End of story.

The universe is the practical joke of the General at the expense of the Particular, quoth Frater Perdurabo, and laughed. The disciples nearest him wept, seeing the Universal Sorrow. Others laughed, seeing the Universal Joke. Others wept. Others laughed. Others wept because they couldn't see the Joke, and others laughed lest they should be thought not to see the Joke. But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.
