No. Garcia and Garland both screwed the pooch. That's it. Garland was untouchable at the beginning of last year. Garcia was nearly as good. It would help if they got a little consistency behind them defensively, but in all honesty the pitching hasn't been good. The main culprit is probably focus. It looks like the team is sleepwalking. They came out gangbusters today, but lost focus after the lead. If this isn't a wake up call, I don't know what is. 2005 is over.

Not sure if anyone else brought this up. Just got here, could the lack of solid play on offense and defense be attributed to the lack of play the starters got during spring training? When do the dark clouds threads start? Positives for today......The Wolves win ! That is about it.

No matter how many games into the season, blowing a lead like that to the frickin Royals is not acceptable. Wins and losses count just the same now as they do later in the season. By the way, Garland looked like absolute crap last weekend against the Braves also.

Parrot:
I've already brought that up. I can see Ozzie playing the 'never-was' and 'never will be's' in early March but these asswipes were in the games the final week of the spring! Even in Atlanta... I look up and see Vallario bothching a throw at second or booting a ground ball and I'm thinking 'what the hell is going on here?' Why are the regulars on the bench the final week of the season in the 6th or 7th inning? Ozzie says he wants to see all the kids and how they perform. My response is if you have to rely on them in the first place come July you are in deep dung anyway. The point is get the guys who are going to make a difference ready to go. There are times when I think maybe Daver had it right all along about Ozzie...we'll see. I'm beginning to get uneasy over his Manager Gandhi like tendencies. Lip |
