Daigle named Carolina League MVP

Let me say that I am posting this because a Sox farmhand is being honored, I know he is a career minor leaguer and I am not saying he is gonna be a superstar in the bigs.

He may be a career minor leaguer but that is still huge for any ballplayer. Congratulations Leo Daigle!

I have no reason to expect similar results from Daigle, but isn't it true that Ross Gload and even Scott Podsednik at one point in their respective careers were considered "career minor leaguers?"

Gload made his MLB debut at age 24, after performing very well at AA and AAA that year. Subsequently, he was called up 6 different times for 3 different teams. Nonetheless, he has seen very little MLB action and may in fact be a career minor-leaguer. Daigle turns 26 in 2 weeks -- an age at which both Podsednik and Gload had already played in MLB and starred in AAA. Daigle is an MVP in A-ball (playing along-side and against 19-21 year olds), but was terrible when he was called up and given an extended opportunity to play for Charlotte earlier this year. Not only has Daigle failed to make his MLB debut before age 26, he has failed to attain prolonged success at a level higher than A ball. That doesn't bode well for his future as a major-leaguer.

I'm not saying Daigle is not a career minor leaguer; he has been one and very probably will remain one until he retires. I am saying that there is precedent for evaluators (not you specifically) to be too quick to label a player.

I dunked on a bunch of 4th graders in Highschool and Nobody ever gave me an award! I say KUDOS to Leo for Milking the system!!!!! The people here are just jealous because they didn't think of this first!
