Default Walkoff home runs

Pierzynski hit the 29th walkoff home run in New Comiskey/U.S. Cellular history. Lets see if we can name them all(or a good majority).

1. Pierzynski
2. Jermaine Dye earlier this year.
3. Valentin to beat the Cubs.
4. Lee to beat the Cubs.
5. Thomas to sweep the Twins in 03.
6. Ventura vs the Cardinals in 98.
7. Somebody hit one on 5-13-00 but cant remember who.
8. Crede last year to beat the Tigers.
9. I think Ordonez hit one in 03.

Any more come to mind?

Thomas hit one off of Washburn in 2003.
Jeff Abbott hit one against Minnesota in 2000.
Ventura hit one off of Goose Gossage in 1992.

Maggs hit one last year against the Royals. And 5/13/00 might have been Abbott. I remember we were struggling in May and that game started to turn things around.

Didn't Joe C. hit like two or three early last year?

Crede in late 2002 hit like a three run homer to tie it in the 9th, then a grand slam to win it in extra innings. I'm probably off a little as I didn't watch the game (we were well out of the race), but I'm pretty close.

Walk off hits, not homeruns if I recall correctly.

I think I remember Dave Martinez hitting a walk-off grand slam against Detroit in 1996 or 1997.

Crede has a couple of game-ending home runs. In addition to the game against the Tigers I went to in 2003, he hit one against Toronto in 2002. The homers were more dramatic than the game-ending single he hit in 2002 against the Indians after Thomas tied the game with a two-out, three-run homer. (That was the game Royce Clayton didn't lace up his spikes and couldn't come out to run in the ninth.)

I think Ventura leads with 5 walkoff homers in the new park, including a two-out grand slam against the Rangers for a 10-8 win in 1991. That may have been the most dramatic game-ending homer in the new ballpark. (In the old park there was a Dick Allen pinch-hit with two out in 1972, but in 90 years, that may have been matched.) Sosa, I believe, hit the first in the new park. Baines hit a couple in 1996.

If I worked a little bit, I could probably find the list.

I remember last year or in '03 between Frank and Paulie one hit a homer to tie it in the ninth and the other hit a walk-off in the 10th or 11th. I think it was Frank, then Paulie.

Robin Ventura hit a walk-off grand slam once in the early nineties. I remember that because I was watching the game, then the power went off in my house and I missed it. I thought we were gonna lose, but then I saw the slam on the news later on.

Also Bo Jackson hit a homer off Mark Langston once, but I don't know if that won the game or just tied it.

Sorry 'bout my crummy memory...

Crede hit two walkoff homeruns last year. One was against the Tigers in a 7-6 win (solo) and the other was against I believe the Royals where the Sox were down 6-4 in the 9th with two men on and Crede hit one the other way for a walkoff. I remember because I watched both those games.

Wow, this is an incredible list. I'm going to edit it so far based on what everyone has said. Looks like we're about halfway there:

3. Valentin to beat the Cubs 2003 Friday afternoon.
4. Lee to beat the Cubs 2001.
5. Thomas to sweep the Twins in 7/2/03.
6. Ventura vs the Cardinals in 98 (? Not sure on this one).
7. Jeff Abbott vs. Twins on 5-13-00.
8. Crede last year to beat the Tigers (July 2004)...last game in 1st place.
9. Frank Thomas off Washburn 2003
10. Ventura off Gossage 7/31/91
11. Jose Valentin (right field shot) 6/22/04
12. Crede vs. Royals (April or May 2004)
13. Crede's extra inning grand slam (late 2002)
14. Mags vs. Royals 2004 (anyone remember the date?)

Not sure on the Dave Martinez.

Yeah, I'll never forget that night. Frank lifted Ventura up over his shoulder at home plate, Bill Murray was in the crowd, and I'm 99.9% sure that's the first game Hawk ever called Frank "the Big Hurt". At the very end of the postgame on Sportschannel, they showed a freeze shot of Frank with Robin over his shoulder, and Hawk says, "Do It, Big Hurt!"
