Default Official MLB Draft Thread - Day 1 - June 7th

Here it is, draft starts in less than an hour. One of my favorite events of the year.

Sox looking at Jeff Clement and several pitchers, who knows where they'll go?

Sox pick 15th in the first round and don't have any supplemental picks this year or second rounder (El Duque).

draft starts at 11:30 am CDT, and can be followed live on MLB.com audio and/or video...

How about none, & Tulowitzki falls to us at 15

That's my dream scenario, but it's a long shot. He could fall out of the top 10, but it would be a miracle if he falls to us at #15 (and the Sox take him, LOL)

Kenny said Catcher was one of the weak spots of the farm system so Clement should be a good pick. Cesar Carillo of Miami and Brian Bogusevic from Tulane are alternates.

Clement makes Piazza look like Johnny Bench...

Taylor Teagarden is a better (pure catching) prospect and I would would be surprised if:
1) Clement is there at #15
2) The Sox don't take a catcher in the 3-5 rounds
3) Sox don't take a pitcher at #15 (unless Tulowitzki somehow manages to fall to them)
