Default Oy another misinformed medidiot

On Boston's WZLX this morning sports director TANK was gushing about the Red Sox visiting the City of Chicago next weekend for the first time since 1918 when they play the Cubbies.

The morning host said "what about the White Sox?"

Tank replied "they play outside the city in Cicero, Illinois in an industrial park that is hard to get to, that is why they have no fans"

Tank
WZLX Sports Director, 5:30 - 9 a.m.
Tank started working in radio in 1977 as an intern at WBCN. In 1982, he got his first break doing the Sports Reports on Charles Laquidara's "Big Mattress" show. In 1986, Tank moved on to host a sports show on TV Channel V66. Tank later rejoined WBCN as Sports Director, co-hosting the first year of the "WBCN Patriots Rock Radio Network." In 1996, Tank returned to the Charles Laquidara Radio Hour to do Sports once again, at its new home with WZLX. Today, Tank is the familiar, amicable voice that sweeps through with the sports reports on the Classic Rock Morning Show with Steve Sweeney.

I found "Tank's" unexpurgated biography (see above).

Tell Tank not to quit his job as a Saddam Hussein impersonator.

Sheesh.

Between the alcoholic and this guy why does every boston sportscaster/mediot look like they just stumbled in from a tailgate of neanderthals?

I wrote this media jack-ass. I let him know that the Red Sox have visited
CHICAGO previously, and have done so every year since at least 1901, will be here to visit the White Sox again in July of 2005, so this visit will NOT be their firstvisit. To gush about the visit is misleading, incorrect and ignorant of the facts.

I really just don't know how you can have a job as any sort of journalist when you don't know basic information like where the White Sox play.

Not that I'm surprised.

It takes like 10 seconds to look this information up on the Internet too. I mean it's not like the location of USCF is some deep dark secret that only the CIA has access to. If Tank really didn't know where Soxpark is, he should have at least qualified his statement with "I don't think USCF is located inside the geographical limits of the city." But he clearly was speaking with authority the way this statement is presented here.

It's always been a source of pride to Chicago Sports fans that Chicago is the only city in the country with 5 professional sports team all still within the city limits (Philly has 4). A buddy of mine saw the flubs, Sox and Bears all live on the same day (I went to the final two games with him). We only saw the second half of the preseason Bears game and missed the final out at Comiskey, but we made last call at the beer booth, so it was all good. You cannot do that anyplace else in the world.

Hey Tank - Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

It's already happened to Mae. Last November, a Boston radio station reported Red Sox manager Terry Francona as having had an affair with Mae. The host used a rumour in the New York Post, citing an unnamed manager and a sports anchor in a large market. He filled in the blanks. The DJ was fired after Red Sox lawyers entered the picture.
But she has blog fans
