Charlotte and Munoz (1-5, 4.45) lost 5-1. The Big Hurt ended up 0-3. Borchard pinch hit for Frank in the 8th and struck out. Bajenaru: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO, 0.47

Birmingham lost 7-3. The Barons took a 3-2 lead into the 9th. Jenks struck out Felix Pie with a runner on 3rd but catcher Chris Stewart let the pitch get away allowing the tying run to score. Then it got worse. Jenks allowed 5 runs, one of which was earned.

Talk about your marathon thrillers, Kannapolis unfortunately lost in 18 innings 7-6. Trailing in the 9th 4-2, Kanny sent the game into extra innings only to allow 3 in the top of the 18th. Once again they battled back and scored 2 but fell short. Perez L (2-1, 2.49).
Gonzalez started the game: 4.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 8 SO, 1.76.

The Sox medical staff has instructed Frank to avoid putting too much pressure on the ankle during game situations. Since these are only rehab games, it's not necessary for Frank to play the entire game.
