"Ring came to the Mets organization from the Chicago White Sox in the Roberto Alomar trade two years ago. He was 5-3 with Norfolk and Double-A Binghamton last season."

Royce Ring for Robbie Alomar. That trade still has me scratching my...head.
A first round draft pick (possibly a poor choice for a first round pick) for a short-term mid-season solution. Is that trade comparable to Garland for Karchner?

However, that's not what you said. You are asking if Ring for Alomar was on the same level as Garland for Karchner. And unfortunately, that's a ridiculous comparison. |
