Default Early Season Blown Saves

This is a continuation of commentary on an earlier thread about Shingo blowing a save and Dave Campbell mentioning that lots of big-time closers struggle early on. Well, look at the examples we have so far:

Bob Wickman
Percival and Urbina (both gave up run tonight and Percival had gone 40 innings against the Twins without giving up a run)
Mariano Rivera
Dan Kolb (blew a 3-run lead in the 9th against the Nats)
Trevor Hoffman (first game)
Armando Benitez (blew a 3-run lead in the 9th against the Dodgers today)
Braden Looper (blew 2-run lead on Opening Day in Cincinnati)

In other words, lots of people blowing leads - even big ones - early in the season. But they all settle in. Shingo will too.

I'm hardly going to lose sleep over a guy who's 22 for 24 overall, save-wise.

The only freakout thing about that game--which I was at (!!!)--was how he blew it. I've never seen him do that before... three homers.

Which is why it was probably just a freak occurence.

So that brings us back to: file under--not worried about it.

He had one bad game where he didn't have it (just look at the ball he threw that led to the walk on the 3-2 count). I don't even know why the other thread was made about this
