Default Here we go again with the National Media
The covers of both Street and Smith's and the Sporting News are not going to make you happy. Both are hyping up the cubs. Nomar is on the cover of Street and Smith's and Prior is on TSN. Can you say 2004 all over again?

I don't see why they shouldn't be ! After all, they did storm to the playoffs, and win the World Series in a sweep. Now that they've improved their roster by changing their T.V. broadcasters, they'll probably be the first team to go 162-0 on the way to their 2nd Series title in a row !

Fine by me. Put Nomar on the cover of SI for all I care. That team on the northside is in dire straits, and most people refuse to admit it. Like I said, that's okay by me.

Well, the Sox HAVE made more moves than practically anyone and the cubs have stood pat for the most part. Yet, they get cover boy status, AGAIN.

So be it. I find it better for us that we fly under the radar. The national media just sets themselves up for a meal of crow when they do things like this

Don't those two publications print local covers for different areas of the country. I would think it is like Street and Smith's college football preview where they put a regional Heisman trophy candidate on the cover of magazines on sale only in the region.

The only thing I don't understand is how all of these idiotic people can pick this team to win a World Series when they're going to struggle to compete in their own division with the line up they're bringing to the plate, injury plagued rotation, and wretched bullpen. I can see that the kool-aid is being chugged extra early this year.
