You may not be able to recognize all of the Cubs players at Wrigley Field without a scorecard this season.

The organization has decided to remove the names from the backs of the Cubs' home jerseys in an effort to revisit early baseball tradition.

Wow, what do they think they are, the Yankees? By the way, the Cubs were one of the last to add their names to the back of their home uniforms, if I remember right (besides the Yankees).

I've always said, that most of the people who fill the seats at Wrigley Field would have trouble naming more than 5 guys on the team. Now its going to be REALLY true!

It's pathetic when every year at my annual Sox/Cubs get together I know what player they are showing on the screen and half the cubs fans in the room don't know till he turns around and they see the name on the jersey. It's absolutely pathetic. Now it's going to be even worse.

I asked one "cubs" fan who Kerry Wood was, and after stopping herself halfway through something about "Tiger Woods" she mentioned something about him playing "for the bulls or something."

No names on the back of Cub home jerseys now? So I guess the new age WOODS Jerseys will just have an "S" on the back now? Too bad for the rest of MLB; now Cub fans HAVE to travel to other cities just so they can find out who's on their team.

Weren't the White Sox one of the first to put names on the back of jerseys? I believe it was one of Veeck's ideas.
