Infallible thinks over 4000 members just isn't enough

I'm a new member here just this month, it was only by sheer dumb luck that I decided one night to cruise the net in search of white sox forums. For a city the size of Chicago, not to mention those who are in other locals 4k members is not very much. The quality here is of course top notch, but it would be nice to spread the word......so how do we do it?

4k is actually alot....I think. It's not the only Sox site out there, but it's certainly the best

Believe me, we might have 4,000 members, but we have a lot of lurkers. Anyways, 4,000 is a lot.

Membership has increased 25% just since I joined. I'm member #2935 out of 4000 and I just joined in April before this season. And I lurked around and just read the site for a year or so before I finally decided to post. There are new members every day. WSI is growing quickly and getting more exposure every day - even coming from people like Dave Wills and Brooks Boyer lately.

It's not so much that it's cheap as it is that it's unethical and illegal.

You beat me by 2200: you are number 741.

If you click "view member's profile" or mouse over your name (or any other name for that mater), you can see the url that will take you to your profile. The last part, userid=xxxx, is your user number. FarWestChicago is #2, PHG is #3, etc. #1 is Board God, who hasn't made any posts and hasn't logged in since 2003. Many of the numbers are probably inactive, but it gives you an idea of where you are at.

I'm pretty sure if you click on your profile, the URL of the website ends in "userid=xxx" and that number is supposedly your member number. Of course, this is thrown off by administrative usernames you never see here and repeat users.

ince Soxfest started the site has gained 39 members - only two of which were trolls or spammers.

The Site has nearly doubled in size since last year at the same time.

WSI is the largest independent baseball site on the net - or second largest, I forget.

I did lurk for a year before joining as well though. I would go to wsi every day to read the "totally biased recap" of each game, and then browse the boards to keep up to date with the info. I wanted to join, but didn't for some reason. I finally decided to just do it one day, and here I am!

I love the entire site. While it may not be too pretty aesthetically (I used to design web sites), it is still the #1 site for White Sox news. I know, because I've looked.

Definite props to WSI and everyone who gives their time to keep it running smoothly!

It seams that this site has had a serious boom in the past year, year and a half. Why is that?
