Rain out rule question
I know that after the fifth inning (or middle of the fourth if the home team is in the lead), that the game becomes official and if rained out, the outcome stands. However, what is the rules in regards to a game that is tied, after the fifth inning, and rained out? Are the umpires required to wait it out, even if it is hours before the game can resume? Does the game stand as a tie for the time being, with all stats counting until it can either be resumed or replayed? Do they keep all the stats, and just start the thing over from scratch?
Just wondering... Thanks.

In the event of a rainout of a tie game, the individual player stats count. However, the game is replayed in its entirety. Right?
