What would be the World Series from hell?

My personal greatest fear (Red Sox vs Cubs) was thankfully prevented last year, but is still a possibility. Hopefully something I will never see.

Cubs/Any AL Central team...

Means that the Sox division had a team good enough to go to the series and it wasn't us.

Anyone who doesn't say either Cubs/Yankees or Cubs/Twinkies (or another AL Central team) is obviously not a Sox fan.

And anybody who would rather see the Red Sox in the World Series than the Yankees has obviously never been to a game at Fenway Park or had much contact with Red Sox fans. I have seen 6 White Sox-Red Sox games at Fenway over the last three years. At each one, the "Yankees suck" chant has started, more than once. This would be fine except for two things:

1) The Yankees weren't playing.
2) The Yankees have won 26 World Series since the last time the BoSox won one.

Red Sox fans and the Boston media are so ridiculous, they make Cubs fans and the Chicago media seem normal and rational. If the Cubs ever played the Red Sox in the World Series, I would honestly have a tough time deciding whom to root for.

Cubs vs tampa for the sheer fact that another expansion team would make a world series before us again.

I could live with pedro strikin out cubs like fools or lieber showing what the cubs gave up on.

The Yankees Suck chant is heard at hockey games in Montreal when the Bruins play there.

I just know that if the Red Sox ever get back to the Series, I pray it is not the Cubs....

Hey, I'd have a tough time, too. I'd eventually have to pull for Boston, but I really, really, really don't ever want to.

Cubs/Red Sox is the nightmare Series for me.

Without hesitation I would root for the Red Sox. In 1975 my brother was a Reds fan so I decided to root for the Red Sox [what did I know? I was only 10 years old] It was then that I discovered and fell in love with the play of Carlton Fisk. I've always felt a sort of kinship with the Red Sox fans because we share Carlton Fisk.

I voted for a Cubs/Twins series as my worst nitemare. I hate the Cubs and hope they lose 100 games a year from now until forever, and I hate the Twins even worse.

I just noticed your sig line and wanted to point out that whether the Sox score in the fourth inning or not is irrelevant. I have yet to go to a Dunkin Donuts where anybody actually checked whether the Sox scored or not. They have no idea, and probably don't care.

I've been to 26 games this year, and I don't drink coffee, but my girlfriend has been the lucky recipient of 26 free cups of coffee.

Cubs/Yankees would be painful as I would find myself rooting for the Evil Empire.

If the Cubs were to beat the Yankees, it would be the most miserable day of my life. I hate talking to Cub fans anyways, let alone if they were to beat the Yankees traveling all-star team.

If the Cubs and Red Sox meet in the World Series, I may have to stop watching baseball altogether. This scenario would be unbearable, because the media would talk non-stop about curses and ghosts and farm animals. Ugh!

At least if the Cubs faced the Yankees, I would feel secure in the fact that the Yankees would slaughter them.

Just knowing that it should be us and the media coverage of "these two cinderella stories" would drive me to drinking. Oh wait....
How you can be an underdog/cinderella when you're own by a media conglomerate is beyond me but....
Plus it would mean having to see more of Ron Gardenheire and Dusty Baker.
And Fhqawgads would never shut up about it.

Also the worst part of it would be the local spin on it about how it should be the White Sox and how they've once again LET DOWN CHICAGO
