The Tribune almost did. There's a big chart on page 6 of the sports section with a pitch-by-pitch rundown of how Prior did. I can't find an online link to the chart, but it looks kind of like a chart for a product rated by Consumer Reports.

Not suprizing, most of the ink in the Tribune as far as baseball is concerned is about the Cubs. Articles range from Prior's performance, the bullpen's collapse, fans' reaction to Prior's return, and Kerry Wood's wanting to get back on the mound. There's even a story about Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon saying he liked how his team depite his 2-game suspension and the pre-game Prior hype. The only Sox-related stories in today's Trib involve Maggs' trip under the knife, a puff piece about Jon Garland, and Shingo Takatsu saying he "feels strange" playing against Ichiro because he watched Ichiro play on TV while living in Japan.

There's not even a courtest message telling readers to read the website for a story on the Sox WIN over Seattle last night. But there sure is enough ink about the Cubs' LOSS and Mark Prior's "Just Ducky" debacle.

The Associated Press story by Rich (?) Gano would have been distributed around the world. I read it while I was at work. It went on about the crisp afternoon and the perfection of Prior's form, the way he pulled his socks up and the movement of his curveball. All of this was followed by a sentence about Josh Fogg matching his performance. The story worked in the fact that the Cubs lost. The last sentence of the story mentions that he disappointed fans the day before at a public apperance.
