I wonder if Cubs VP Mark McGuire will blame the Sox for planting the corked bat in Sosa's stable. Remember, he claimed that we were responsible for poisoning the ivy?

This is shaping up to be one of the greatest days in the history of Major League Baseball. I cant wait to see what the Tribune says about this.

The only thing better about this is that I was listening to the game on WGN with my family (all Cub fans, BTW) during dinner.

"We know it was a Sox Fan who planted the corked bat because we found the residue of Round Up weed killer on the handle--and we ALL KNOW who killed the ivy, don't we?!"

What I love about players getting caught with corked bats is that it doesn't actually help. At least not according to Robert Adair the physics professor who wrote the Physics of Baseball. If anything theres a placebo effect.

This is so funny. Wasn't there anyone in the Cubs organization to tell Sosa the cork doesn't help?

Doesn't a mandatory suspension go with this?

They're going nuts on the IlliniBoard over this:

Also, I wonder what Santo said of all this.

I am really loving this Cubs' broadcast. Chip and Stone are acting all non chalant, trying to dance around the subject. It's great.

Good times, good times...

Wonder what they did with his bats still in the club house? Maybe his boom box is corked too.

Sosa's favorite musician? Corky Siegal, of course.
