Default Sox fans are miserable.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...ssional-sports

Sox fans 6th most miserable of all professional teams fans, didn't take a genius to figure that out.
ESPN screwed up again, said we haven't been to the playoffs since 2010, try 2008.

So ESPN only acknowledges our existence long enough to label us “miserable?”

**** them.

I mean, yea, it's been a pretty miserable stretch for this franchise.

My own take is that the Black Sox Scandal along with horrible and under financed owners have caused all the misery down through the years but I was able to enjoy the Go Go years with a World Series in 1959, I treasure those years as they were anything but miserable. 2005 is something they can never take away from us even though ESPN pretends it never happened.

I wonder how ESPN's ratings are. I almost never turn any of their channels on. I do know some sports super fan types who watch it since they're into every single sport there is.

I had heard they were suffering, laying people off etc. but haven't heard much lately.

I know this, if I had the option, I would cut them from my Dish lineup in a heartbeat and save the money.

Get the **** out of here with that. We are a proud franchise, despite the losing history. Our fans aren't miserable, and we do not ask people to pity us. We just want and demand better. If that makes us miserable, fine. As far as I am concerned, I have taken pride in being a Sox fan my entire life. I will continue to do so.

One nice thing to know is that the White Sox all time record is 9211-9126, 85 games over .500 but at one time we were around 250 games over. 2019 will be a nice year to start to reverse that losing trend.

Didn't need ESPN to tell me this. I sense more than enough misery around here regularly.

Okay- maybe I need a definition of misery from a fan perspective. Are we talking about the mood around the organization? Our performance? Both? I feel like Sox fans are not miserable in the literal sense. What do I know, though.

1. ESPN employees are very miserable, they never know when they will be the next one laid off.

2. How do they measure this? Just about all of my non-WSI Sox fan friends are ecstatic about the team. Have been for over a year now.

Well, the league networks are all much better than ESPN, so I'm sure lots of people are not watching ESPN. I'm glad I have all 4 league networks. It makes ESPN almost unnecessary safe for a few actual games here and there.

The level of discourse on MLB Network makes ESPN look like Amateur Hour. Kevin Millar’s “Intentional Talk” is a bro-tastic nightmare that should be avoided at all costs, but the rest of the studio programming provides high-quality information, analysis, and opinions.
