Default Voting out the GM

So I was just watching an interview with Drew Carey, who's part-owner of the Seattle Sounders. As it turns out, they're the only franchise that allows season-ticket holders to vote out the general manager if they don't like the job he's doing. Apparently, it's standard election stuff that happens every four years, so there's a quorum, etc., etc. If the GM doesn't get 50-plus-one of the vote, the Sounders have to hire a new one.

If the Sox did a similar thing, you had season tickets and the election was this year, would you allow Rick Hahn to keep his job?

I would just for the sake of a wait-and-see on the rebuild.

EDIT: Mods, this is supposed to be a poll, but I screwed up. Can you make a yes or no option?

Poll added.

This is the dumbest idea ever.

There is not enough bandwidth on the entire world wide web to explain why.

I voted no. We need to have time to see how the rebuild is progressing. 2 years from now we'll have a better picture of things, if we aren't competitive in 2020, I'd vote him out.

PS Was it Yes to keep him and no to fire him, if that's the case I vote yes to keep him.

Hahn seems competent. The player evaluation and development people under him seem less so.

Totally agree. It was generous of you to add the poll. The question hardly deserves it.

I agree. It would be ludicrous to vote him out now and have the team start all over again.

Wouldn't have to start all over at all. Just continue the rebuild, hopefully more competently and energetically.
He didn't exactly shine when he inherited an 85 win team and going 290-358 pre-rebuild. Those are quite the credentials to take charge of tear-down and rebuild.
It's never too late for a change.

The way our luck goes, they'd probably re-hire Hawk as GM.

How will this work in Seattle? There are many corporate season ticket holders, how do they decide who gets to cast their ballots? Do the corporate ST holders even care who is the GM?

How would someone be able to "campaign" for their yes/no preference? Will the team release to ST holders the contact information for all the ST holders? If so, watch season ticket sales go to zero in five minutes.

So, if they vote out the GM, how is the person replaced? Who the **** would want the job under these circumstances????

Usually inclined to vote churros, I voted Yes because I think allowing fans to vote is a very, very stupid idea.

My vote should have been yes.

When I made the poll, the screen with the thread is not present and I through the question was "should the Sox do this?"

Have you met sports fans? This is a terrible idea.

Imagine if crazy emotional people like me had all the power over hiring and firing. We'd never win again!

With this organization, there is only one person that would make a difference. Its not the GM.

I also read this as "should the sox do this?" and voted no.

This is a BAD idea.
