Watched a really good one hour special last night on MLB Network regarding the '90s Indians called "The Dynasty that Almost Was". Great footage and interesting interviews. John Hart takes partial blame for a couple of controversial deals that hurt team chemistry in '96 when he got rid of Eddie Murrary and Carlos Baerga, but the team came back and was three outs from winning the World Series in '97. Albert Belle wouldn't be interviewed but left a phone message on the interviewer's voicemail blaming Hart.
Hart said that the Indians had a chance to trade for Pedro after the '97 season in return for Jared Wright and Bartolo Colon and turned it down. Man, how would that have changed the space-time continuum? |

Always wondered if the Sox could have held off the Indians in 1994 when the season was cancelled due the strike, the Sox led by 1 game when the strike put a kibosh on the season. Would have been interesting and if the Sox had prevailed it would have been the only time in team history with 2 consecutive post season appearances.

Tribe was the only AL team to lose a WS that decade. If not for them how futile would the Braves 90's have seemed?

Zero titles for our White Sox during that span. So as I'd had come to appreciate the arguments of those around to cherish those season I cannot say the Braves teams of the 90s were futile.

The Braves had an exceptional team. They just could not get more than one WS title. There is plenty for Braves fans to be proud of. |

No argument from me, just one of those things much like the GO GO SOX from 51 through 67, they were a joy to watch and I was also very proud of them.
