I think the exceptions would probably be Texas or Houston.

Oh, yea, that makes sense. They're not really small market though, are they? Anyways, people seem to agreeing that Seattle is the likely winner.

I'd imagine it would be either the M's, Giants or Padres.
I'd handicap it, based on what I heard his wants are as:
1. Giants
2. Padres
3. Ms

San Francisco has a fairly large Japanese population, so that is why I went with them.

In addition to the Yanks and Red Sox

According to multiple reports, the Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox and New York Mets are also out.

As somebody I know put it, if this were a police procedural drama that has already gone on for 20 minutes, the Mariners are the suspect we'd all think it is.

If Ohtani settles on a west coast team please let it be the Giants.

Cubs must have made some pitch to his agents to get to be one of the seven finalists.

It's because he likes Theo and his record of success.

I mean lets not kid ourselves, its an easy pitch to make.

They have probably the best executive in baseball in Theo. 3 straight NLCS. Right now they have a very talented, young team. One of the 3-5 most popular teams in the game and they could probably point to Maddon being a non-traditional manager if they are comfortable playing him in the OF. Its a good time to be a player for the Cubs.

I really hope he doesn't end up there, but it does not shock me they are a finalist.
