Guessing either Leury or Willie Garcia wind up back with the team. Anyone I'm missing? Hopefully Avi recovers quickly and is back in a couple weeks.

This isn't good for Garcia, or for the Sox efforts to decide whether or not he's a candidate for inclusion in the longer-term rebuild.

But it is an opportunity for other players to get ABs in the outfield.

Leury is beginning a rehab assignment in AZL.

May be a chance to see what they've got with Rymer Liriano?

And unlikely to return for at least a few more weeks per Hahn.

Well this should put us squarely as the worst team in baseball. Heck might even be worst AAA team. I know I am in the minority, but I'll never understand trading All-stars for players who MIGHT make the majors. Potential is the most frustrating word I know. It's what I used to always make fun of friends for hyping a prospect call up.
Get better quick Avi, they may trade you for some other A players

I'll keep this brief.

The Sox didn't "want" to trade these players, they had to because of their position. The core of Sale, Q, Eaton, and Abreu failed to even be above .500 the past few years. The Sox didn't have the minor league assets to make a trade to improve the team and their weren't FA's available that would push them into a contender. FA's also have to choose to even be on the Sox over 29 other teams. It just wasn't going to happen with that core. So, now they have cashed those stars into highly rated prospects, which some work out, others don't. Either way, they have more potential stars than before and have no money tied up. They can add big ticket FA's in 2018 by over-paying if need be and now have minor league assets to trade for proven players when the time comes to compete in '19-'20.

I believe he has been playing through this issue for awhile and it makes sense to take care of it now. Highly unlikely he will be dealt now.

Yeah, there's been a drop in production lately. He was 1 for 30 going into the All-Star break, had a good first series against Seattle out of the break, but now he's in a 3-for-24 skid.

The injury might explain it.

I hate trading for guys on the DL. Not so much position players but I particularly hate trading for pitchers on the DL.

Paging Willy Garcia, please pick up the White Sox courtesy phone.

Nowadays, like most on here, I don't care whether they win or lose. Except against these bastards. Now, it seems they're losing somebody every day, whether through trade or injury. Ah, screw it.
