Let's have some fun with this and put your Nostradamus cap on. Give me the Opening Day 2020 lineup for the White Sox.

I'll take a crack-

CF- Basabe
RF - Robert
3B - Moncada
LF - Jimenez
1B - Burger
DH - Beer
C - Collins
SS - Anderson
2B - Y. Sanchez

SP - Kopech

Abreu and Avi gone. Davidson doesn't pan out. Yolmer stays.

I take it Yolmer is playing a very short right field?

2B. Sorry. Unless he's in a perpetual shift.

I see Burger at third and Collins at first.

Moncada? Who knows where he'll play.

Reports are that Collins defense has improved markedly this year, and while not graceful, Burger gets the job done defensively at third. We'll have a much stronger lineup if those two can stay at their positions.

I haven't the foggiest idea on the lineup order, but by position:

C: Collins
1B: Abreu
2B: Moncada
SS: Anderson
3B: Burger
RF: Adolfo
CF: Robert
LF: Jimenez
DH: Garcia
SP: Rodon

C Collins
1B Abreu
2B Moncada
SS Anderson
3B Machado
RF Beer
CF Robert
LF Jimenez
DH Burger/Sheets

Not too much speed on this team, but they definitely hit.

Rodon, Lopez, Kopech, Hansen, Dunning

We have enough prospects where if they turn out, we can invest in some bigger salary free agents and take advantage of the control we have on most of these guys. However, success is going to be dependent on them panning out. Barring new ownership or Reinsdorf deciding to spend mega-millions to chase one more title, our success will be dependent on these prospects.

What gives anyone confidence, besides his contact, Anderson will still be on this team? He's absolutely horrible

Between prospect attrition, injuries, and hundreds of future transactions that have yet to be conducted, predicting a lineup this far into the future is an impossibility.

Of course it is. Everyone is just guessing. It's just a fun exercise that would be interesting to go back and look at three years from now.

He's had a bad year, yes, but it is his sophomore season and he lost his best friend not too long ago.

I'm going to cut him some slack.

He's way more talented than how he's been playing.

At least give him a few seasons to decide on his ability.

Predicting is easy.

Being right is another thing.

No one trusts the kid from TCU behind the plate in three years?

Too soon for the development of a catcher?
