Default Hawk's schedule to be reduced more in 2018

Enjoy him while he's still around.

This is a good thing. Jason should be doing all 162 games soon.

I'll enjoy listening to him. Been doing so since '82.

Hawk Harrelson is a White Sox through and through. Nothing but respect for all he's contributed to the club for many years.

When a team is ready to suck for a few years and you're as old as he is, why bother. I don't blame him. Plus, he's such a homer it will be dreadful broadcast with all the losing.

For better or worse the end is coming for Hawk and I think even he is finally starting to realize it. It took him awhile, probably longer than it should have but he's finally getting it.

I like this guy Russ Langer that has been doing the webcast spring games. He's very good. He also had a young guy on for a couple games earlier that was excellent. The two of them were one of most enjoyable broadcast teams I'd heard in a loooooong time. I wish I had caught the name of the color guy. It wasn't one of our ex-players.

I've soured on Bennetti and Stone. At first, I liked the change away from Hawk, who I have tired of, but I don't care for the interplay between Stone and Jason much and I didn't like Bennetti as color guy with Langer the other day.

I couldn't get through ten minutes of Jason and Stone on the game over the weekend before I had to turn it off.

Oh, boy! More "Sox Math!" More "Prize Shelf!" More "Sticks and Stone," so we can find out how Steve Stone fared against Ed Kirkpatrick! More bad jokes!

It's rough.

Funny, that's how I feel about Hawk.

I hope he's ok physically but his time as GM and announcer illustrates his staying power with this owner.

Stone is going to be 70 this year, I hope he is next. New blood has to be infused throughout the organization.

Yea, I can't stand the long, painful silences with Hawk and Stone or Hawk's pouting and complaining about a missed call in the 3rd when the Sox are down by five.

Having said that, for better or for worse, Hawk is probably the most identifiable part of the White Sox right now and I think it makes sense to ease him into retirement. He's earned that right.

I also wouldn't be surprised if when Stone decides to step down he's replaced by AJ.

Maybe we get to the point for 2018 and 2019 that Benetti is the full-time PBP guy, with Stone and Hawk sharing color duties. Maybe Hawk just does the AL Central road games (to make travel easier for him), plus opening day and the Cubs series, and Stone does the balance of the schedule.
