It's the right move. Beckham's Sox career started with such promise but it just didn't pan out. We can't be paying $4.5 million for a defensive specialist. I wonder if Semien or Sanchez is going to get most of the playing time?

I hope Gordo makes the playoffs with the Angels, and has a good run with them.....so the Sox get a decent player in return.

Gordo played hard, and was a good teammate on and off the field, so I wish him well.

Interesting considering they just shut Micah Johnson down for the year yesterday.

It will sting a bit, but Hawk has had many of his favorites move on...Like Burls who is his stated favorite Sox player of all time.

This is best for both sides, I'm honestly amazed that anyone would even want Beckham.

+1 my sentiments exactly.... Always thought there was more talent there but I think he is what he is at this point

Sayonara, Bacon.

Got to think he'd have been a much better player for us had the Sox not rushed him to the majors.

59 minor league games over two seasons, and one was his draft year.

Semien can handle things this year and he may surprise.

Looked like he was going to be a star as a rookie, then just got progressively worse each season. One of the oddest careers of a Sox player that I'll ever remember.

This is a Sox-y move on the Angels' part. Gave up nothing. If Beckham turns it around there, great move for them. If not, didn't lose much.
