Default White Sox the most hated team...in Nunavut?

I'm guessing a family of Cubs fans moved there.

Someone put money on our bullpen being competent this year.

Or: "What Sox? Red Sox? What Sox???"

Is Yukon not part of Canada any longer or is there literally not one person there who gives a **** about baseball?

Why would anyone hate the Padres? I can maybe see the Whitesox, only because maybe up in that area, you might have a bunch of country music fans. The Whitesox were once associated with gangster rap and I doubt gangster rap and country fans ever were big fans of each other.

That map is ****ed in many ways. I hope whoever made it got nothing higher than a C in the 8th grade geography class it was made for.

Given the hatred of the Padres, White and Red Sox (the Yankmees is always a given), I would think that what is really going on here is that Jake Peavy has really pissed off the country of Canada. Not sure what he did or say, but it is clear he should not be considered for the post of US Ambassador to Canada.

That's it! I'm officially taking Nunavut off my friends list.

Nunavut's population wouldn't sell out a major league park.

There is probably literally one redditor who follows baseball in the entire territory, and I'm willing to bet he is either a transplant from or a relative of someone from Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland or Minneapolis.

I got the impression that baseball was the biggest of the minor sports in the Yukon, minor sports being everything that isn't hockey and curling, at least from what I saw. Baseball seems popular all over western Canada (I've never been east of Manitoba unless the Upper Peninsula of Michigan counts), despite the short seasons. I can see the Padres being hated in the Northwest Territories, possibly because Cubs fans there just got the news that the Padres took three straight in the 1984 NLCS.

One possibility is that people of the Yukon are so congenial that they don't hate any team.

I find it hard to believe an entire tribe of salmon spiking Eskimos' at the end of the day are tuning in Radio Free Nunavut hoping for a Sox loser

Made my day!

Perhaps a Blue Jays fan who disliked us from the early 90s or a transplant Expos fan who thinks they were better in 1994.
