Default Colby Lewis upset

http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/...by-rasmus-bunt

I guess Colby has an unwritten book of baseball rules only he knows about. Maybe he should worry more about his inflated ERA

That's unreal. They had a two run lead in the fifth. Nothing wrong with a bunt there.

Must be from the Bob Brenly school of baseball ettiquette.

Did he step on the Mound on his way off the field?

Lewis said, "I felt like you have a situation where there is two outs, you're up two runs, you have gotten a hit earlier in the game off me, we are playing the shift, and he laid down a bunt basically simply for average."

I'm confused where the problem lies. The Blue Jays were up 2-0, not 10-0. So they were playing the shift and there was two outs? Colby, ****. Next thing you know he'll be pissed when an opposing batter does something good and his teammates quickly slam their hands together in admiration.

You don't like what happened, Colby?

Then strike him out, moron!

This is one of the more silly grievances in recent memory. It was only a 2-0 game. Rasmus did absolutely nothing wrong there. If the guy behind him cracks a HR in the next AB, his team just doubled their lead and took it out of "bloop and a blast" territory late in the game. Lewis is carrying on like the score was 12-0.

What a jackass. It doesn't even matter what the score was. The concept of a baseball game is to score more runs than the other team within 9 innings, there is no play clock. Even if it's 20-0, you don't just stop trying. I've always said that if a team gets pissed that the other team isn't "calling off the dogs" so to speak, that the proper response would be we'll stop trying to score if you do too then.

I totally agree with you but even by the "unwritten rules" standards that a lot of MLB players talk about, a 2-0 game doesn't fall under that umbrella. Usually when you hear about something like this, it's when a guy steals a base when his team is up 9-0 or something. Lewis complaining is even more silly than most of these type of "unwritten rules" spats because of the close score and situation of the game.

Probably just the frustration of an awful year on an awful team that was supposed to be a lot better.
