Asked Royals GM Dayton Moore today if he'd consider going into "sell" mode. His answer: "I'm not going to give up on our team." KC is 48-49.

Dayton Moore: "We need the group of players we have to produce. We believe they will." Doesn't sound like Royals are close on any trades.

Yankees rumored to be inquiring on Danks.

Have at him, I say.

Heard Mets trying hard to move Bartolo Colon, which isnít exactly a surprise. Also no surprise: Dodgers trying hard to move Kemp.

I would take a flyer on Kemp. If we could pick him up, he might find new life in our park. I would be VERY excited next year of an OF with Eaton-Kemp-Avi and a heart of the order that goes Oso-Kemp-Avi

If Kemp is moved, then the Dodgers will be feasting on at least half of this.

Right, but (1) we are going to have money to spend (2) LAD likely would pick up some salary (3) This could be very Peavyesque in that we might be able to land him without giving much up if we just pay the salary.

Of which the Dodgers would easily help relieve you of if you were willing to take Kemp. Would you take Kemp at 5 yr/ 80? I don't know if I would, but I might do 5 / 60? If they are willing to do that, I don't have any problems!

What would really intrigue me is Starling Marte... looks like the Mariners are trying to get him away from Pittsburgh... if there is a way Hahn can pull that rabbit out of his hat, he'd look great in LF, batting #2.

What about Shelby Miller of STL? They are really down on him right now, wondering if something could be done for him? He'd be a steal in my mind if their selling low on him.

I just cant imagine the Sox laying out 100+M for a guy who has been on the decline.

5/60 I can see the Sox doing that but so would other clubs and they would have more to give LA in return.

Set the bar even higher. Eaton/kemp/Melky . Avi could DH /OF. Danks/Dunn/Beckham/DeAza money = Kemp/Melky. LA eats some cash and jerry ponies up for a RH starter. Dare to dream....
