Game was lost in the 8th inning.
Yeah, it doesn't even matter.

We've lost so many games due to the bullpen, it feels like 2007. But then when we strand out leadoff hitter five times, it feels like 2013. This teams has a lot flaws but losing at this pace is unacceptable.

Well obviously this is just a run of bad luck, the last 6 losses by a combined 8 runs.

Maybe we can draft Rodon again with next year's top 3rd pick.

At least the 2007 bullpen was bad due to a lack of talent. What the hell is the excuse here? They can't stop walking people, or giving up hits or losing games.

Still, so, so many holes to fill. Just make a 10 game improvement over last year and we're on the right track.

They're all winnable games. That's the thing. 1-6 on the trip. Four losses by one run, two losses by two runs. Sox had the lead in all six.

What really sucks is that this series should have been a sweep. Now they end this road trip in Toronto. Ick.

Bad luck? More like bad pitching.

Can't hold any lead.

****ty job by Flowers on that last pitch, by the way. Watching the replay now. He needs to block that pitch. He tried to backhand it like he always does. Guy on third base, he needs to slide over and block that. It wasn't even that far outside.

I mean, I'm not saying the Sox are very good here, but come on, four 1-run losses in a single week? That's just bad luck. There's absolutely no statistical correlation between how good or bad a team is and their record in 1-run ballgames. Those are always essentially just coin flips.

Lots of cast-offs and unproven talent there. Half these guys will likely be out of the bigs, if not out of baseball in a few years.

The latter part is what is crucial here. Bad teams find ways to lose these kind of games. We're 1-6 and playing exactly like we did last year, but we have more talent than last year.

The offense & defense have been bad, brutally bad at times this year.

I know managers do it, but I wish Robin would stop subscribing to the Ozzie Guillen school of managing and worry about L/R matchups when you have a pile of horse feces like Scott Downs. Just DFA Downs, not only because he was laughing as Robin was walking out of the dugout to yank him, but because he's washed-up. If he's not here, he can't be used. The conundrum is, besides the whole bullpen, is Webb needs to be somewhere else. He's completely unusable.
