The only way MLB will justify Jeter getting the MVP if he goes 0-4.

Nationals now have no representative on the NL All Star team, as their lone rep Jordan Zimmermann withdrew due to injury and was replaced by a player from another team. I think the same thing happened to the 2002 Cardinals, not sure how many other times there has been one team with no rep.

Default New Hats

Thought this was interesting. The players will be wearing these hats...not in BP, but in the actual game. Did they do this last year?

Felix Hernandez and Adam Wainwright have been named as the starters:

I remember a year where Ozzie was the only Sox player and didn't play because of injury.

Fearless prediction: Jeter will get a couple of big hits (including a home run) and be voted MVP.

I think in 1973 Pat Kelly made it for the Sox- I think it was after both Dick Allen and then Ken Henderson were injured and couldn't play?

This is the 3rd time the Minnesota Twins have hosted the ASG. Each game has been at a different stadium (Metropolitan Stadium in '65 and Metrodome in '85).

This might be the coldest ASG ever:

I wonder about ASGs in Seattle, Oakland, or San Francisco. The only Giants game I've been to was a night game in August, it was down in the 50s. With the wind blowing off the water it felt quite chilly, too.

Which mascot is the grouchy looking green guy to the right of Bernie the Brewer?

I saw that. I assumed it was just for BP. If they use it during the game itself, it will be the first time I can remember that they didn't use the normal uniform hat.
