Default 2015: metal detectors at all MLB parks

Just like a NFL game.....

I expect a rush on plastic flasks this year.

Maybe they'll institute a pat down, too. The United Center basically makes it impossible to sneak booze in.

If they do, you won't see me at the ballpark any more.

Just wondering why not - they do it at a lot of venues.

MLB would be smart to avoid the NFL zip lock type bag only policy as it would kill the after work crowd.

Despite their claims of this being for safety, has there really been a rise in violence that warrants this?

Huh? Extremely easy to sneak booze into the UC.

I have since bought a plastic flask, but I snuck a metal on into the bears game in my hat.

Where are you putting it? I've even got patted down near the front and back of my pants (like the beltline).

They usually just wave the wand on your stomach and back. I'd stash it in my back pocket or in a sock. I have yet to get seriously patted down this year.

Thought Soldier Field entry would be similar to going through a TSA screening this year, but I found it to be hassle-free.

If there is some threat, why wait until 2015?

Also I seem to remember that I get the metal dectecting wand treatment at most games at the Cell now. Last year's Opener was a memorable hassle. Not much different than the United Center.

Pretty sure I'd have to violate board rules to explain that one adequately.
