Maybe you could email Carson about where he's going to take his English Composition classes and see if you guys can get a 2-for-1 offer if you take Reading Comprehension, as well, and save some cash money.

I like this sort of thing, but I bet the Sox are just about the toughest team in the majors to project.

Right now we would be safe in saying that the 2014 edition will be better than 2013, the question is a little better or a lot better. Let me add that I don't believe Hahn is done up-grading the team for 2014.

Based on the assumption that it couldn't get any worse?

His writing sucks, but the writing is the least significant part.

I believe we have gone back and forth about this before, but the pre-season projection criticism is almost exclusively aimed at Baseball Prospectus, who have in fact been consistently (and spectacularly) wrong about the Sox over the years. In fact, when BP is close to being right about the Sox it is the exception, so much so that Fangraphs and Yahoo Sports felt compelled to write the articles linked to in this post:

Bottom line is that WSI's collective ongoing criticism of BP is fair and represents the bulk of criticism of pre-season prognostication. That said, I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone on WSI getting upset about anyone predicting that the Sox will finish last in the AL Central this year.

On a whim, I looked up Carson Cistulli on Wikipedia; it states that he, among other things, is a poet, and an essayist.

As long as the can of worms was opened I'll say that I think the Twins will be worse.

Yes I think that the Twins and Sox will be battling for 4th place. I also could see a big letdown in Cleveland and/or KC bringing them down to the Sox/Twins level.
