I'm so happy for Frank, a guy (along with Ken Griffey Jr.) who was hammered by the media and the fans because his production fell off a cliff after he turned 30. It's so great to see a guy get rewarded for playing the game the right way.

I put this on my Facebook page, but it bares repeating here.

To Hawk Harrelson, he was "The Big Hurt." To my sister, he was "Mr. Biceps." Today, to all Sox fans, he is known as a first ballot Hall of Famer. Congratulations to the greatest White Sox hitter of all-time, Frank Thomas! It's an honor well-deserved.

I read an article where someone said Biggio is better than Thomas. I thought that was just so wrong. Looking at their numbers, sure Biggio has some good career numbers. But 1 thing that stood out to me is Biggio over the same number of years had a total of 10,876 AB's to accumulate 1844 runs scored, 291 hr, 1175 rbis, and .281/.363/.433 line. Frank accumulated 1494 runs, 521 hr, 1704 rbis, and .301/.419/.555 in 8199 AB's! That's 2,500 LESS AT BATS!!! Big Hurt was an amazing player!!!

Congrats Frank!!!!

Hey, fireworks are appropriate, as Frank set of more fireworks than anybody in Sox history.

We have a way to separate him from that other Frank Thomas now.

It's been a very busy day so I am late to the party. I hope there is a drink or two left for me because this is definitely something worth celebrating. Congratulations Frank, one of the most fearsome hitters of all time. It's a great day to be a Sox fan. I hope that Frank and his family remain on joyous cloud nine for a long time to come.

Default Great wraparound coverage, press conference, interview

All-around great day for Frank and the White Sox! Nice that some of the coverage is showing the softer side of Frank that the media doesn't always see, but die-hard Sox fans who've had the chance to meet Frank have come to expect.

Frank entering as a first ballot Hall of Famer was a no brainer. One of the most dominant hitters of all time. Congrats to the Big Hurt!

Lots of nice posts in there, didn't expect Kos readers to be such knowledgeable baseball fans. Good stuff by you. Glad the roiders are getting theirs. Maybe they'll someday be in a wing of the HOF where all the statues have huge heads.

Congrats to Big Frank, a no-doubt first ballot pick IMO. Easily the most dominant player in the history of an original AL franchise. Unfairly maligned, again IMO, for not having the charisma of Walter Payton or Michael Jordan, but I think Sox fans deeply appreciated what too many reporters did not.

Granted, he works at CSN, but nice to see them feature him this morning to the exclusion of other inductees. As it should be -- he's the indisputable Chicago member of the 2014 HoF class. And he's in excellent company, the only hitter inducted along with two classy pitchers. A great day in Sox history.
