I think you could make an argument for Ed Walsh.

And Eddie Collins.

Anyone know how difficult it is to book hotel rooms that weekend? I'd like to make a decision sooner than later.

Don't forget Ted Lyons who won 260 games with horrible teams and Luke Appling, 20 year career all with the Sox and lifetime .310 batting average.

Here's Frank Thomas' scouting report from 1989. We'd say he turned out better than a B+ prospect. (via @BaseballHall) pic.twitter.com/MyA7iOfY5L

Frank and Robin brought the Sox out of the doldrums. To me, Batman and Robin are forever linked, in fact, probably my greatest memory of Frank is him lifting Ventura after that grand slam. They turned the Sox from a joke into a team that was generally competitive.

Not near Cooperstown. Next to impossible.

Chicago has a half dozen college campuses that are each individually larger than Cooperstown is.

October26 - Thank you to the 2005 World Series Champions Chicago White Sox!
October26 - Twenty-SEVEN years ago, I married my husband on October 26. Since that day, we have been blessed with a wonderful family. Then, on October 26, 2005, when the baseball gods bestowed their good fortunes upon us, we saw the White Sox win the World Series. An incredibly talented team of grinders made every Sox fan's dream come true. My family and I celebrated with reckless abandon. And now, we look forward to that day when our White Sox will once again be World Series Champions!

I visited there a couple of years ago - there's some sort of zoning collusion going on there. I mean there is NOTHING on the outskirts - you just arrive in this very quaint city. There are no chain hotels or restaurants anywhere close...all bed and breakfasts that I could tell. You'll have to find a nearby city and ride in that day. Good luck.
