I don't think he's going to do that, but I would make that bet.

Since Frank Thomas left, and excluding people like Griffey who were just passing through, I think Chris Sale is the only player on the White Sox with HoF potential. And obviously he has an extremely long way to go before he can seriously be considered, is a major injury risk, etc.

That's OK though. This is a team that won the World Series with its HoF'er on the DL and no player batting over .300.

Worthless without the 1990 Topps NNOF.

It will be many decades before we see another Sox player enter Cooperstown.

I don't think Paul Konerko has 66 home runs in him and that's the only way he'd even be considered. Otherwise he's a Fred McGriff without the goofy hat.

When I collected baseball cards, I traded that card for a Sammy Sosa rookie card. In my defense, I made that trade in 1999 and it looked like a good deal at the time. Oh, and I was 12.

McGriff was actually significantly better than Konerko.

I don't think it would be a stretch if I were to substitute "many" with several.

Sure Thome will make Cooperstown, but he won't be wearing a Sox cap.

You will not see a player enter with a Sox cap for some time.

I purchased that card in 1994 for $3. I'm never going to part with it.

2 guys in the HOF that PK's stats compare with, Jim Rice and Duke Snider, neither has 500 HRS. The difference is those guys played in Boston and New York. I say PK has a very good shot but not on his first or second try.

Konerko may get 5% the first year, but then he'll fall off the ballot. He's in the top 2%, but not the top 1%.
