I'm tempted to make a blatently political statement to get this thread closed.

It used to be that the Edwin Jackson trade came up in every thread.

Before that...the Mark Kotsay as DH situation?

I think Brian Anderson wins that award. Crede and Rowand round out 2nd and 3rd.

I'll just move your post to the Roadhouse!

Yeah, Brian Anderson used to sneak his way into every thread for a good 2-3 years. It was awful.

I like that way of thinking. I try, weak human being that I am, to take that forward in all aspects of life.

On another note, it's obvious that for whatever reasons Munch thinks Quintana is a lousy pitcher who's been lucky. Maybe he doesn't like his motion, the number and location of his pitches, or perhaps he just doesn't like him because. All I know is I like watching the guy pitch. He battles every time and he's getting guys out. So far so good and I hope he can stay healthy.

I can't believe this argument is still going on. Incredible.

A Brian Anderson sub forum would have been apt.

This is the most asinine thing I've ever read on the internet this week. Maybe this month. Perhaps this year. It's in the running for top 10 ever.

Stick Quintana on any other team and all the Dark Clouds would call him Cy Quintana and lament that the Sox can't draft or develop anyone.

Thanks. Now I know you don't know how to evaluate a player. I'll take that into consideration next time you post.

And that, to me, is one of the greatest things about baseball. Until a prospect starts to play, it is impossible to say what he will be become.

Mark Buehrle was a 38th round pick, for crying out loud! But he was such a great competitor and such a great craftsman that he became a top tier pitcher who has thrown a no-hitter and a perfect game, has started and won an All-Star game and who was a stalwart starting pitcher for a World Champion.

Not bad for a 38th round pick. And not bad scouting and development from the White Sox, either.

Your track record hasn't exactly been stellar either.

Ya. Why the hell would you want to evaluate a player based on what they actually produce on the field?

What a stupid idea.

I also must have missed the part where you're a scout for a major league baseball team.
