The coward on the D-backs who sandbagged Adam Eaton should be ashamed of himself. Put your name on it or shut your mouth.

It was probably the guy he replaced or was threatening to replace.

Carlton Fisk was one of the top 10 biggest jerks to ever play baseball.... I think we all loved having him here.

Adam, I don't care if you are the nicest guy in the world or a jerk, just produce and play hard. Jerks that produce get loved (see AJ)... Jerks that fail and cry do not (See Swisher).

Obviously, I don't know Carlton personally but I have a hard time believing that claim. This is, at heart, an individual's sport; it allows completely self-centered assclowns to succeed like few other.

Yah, from all accounts he was a bastard in real life haha.

My wife had an interesting run in as a kid. My father in law is Bi Polar and has some other mental issues. At an autograph show, where they paid for Fisk's signature, she was something like 8 years old. She went up and asked if he could make the ball out to Mike for her dad. He actually yelled at her and asked how much money her dad planned on making off his autograph.

That skewed my thinking somewhat, but I have heard a ton of accounts of Fisk being a huge Jerk in real life.

Chris Zorich was a nice guy who did a lot for charity, and I liked him.

AJ Pierzynski was a guy who was almost universally despised by fans and players alike who was a major part of my team winning its first championship in 87 years, and I loved him.

Wouldn't the ball be worth less money with a giant "To Mike" on it? Why would you ask for a personalized autograph if you planned on selling it?

The interesting thing about AJ is that for all the screaming about what a bastard he is on the field, I've never heard anything about him being a bad guy in real life, a la what Domeshot just described. I've met him several times, as a member of the Twins and Sox, and he always seemed like a cool dude.

What fans? Fans of the other team maybe. I was at two of the Texas games at the Cell this year, and Sox fans overwhelmingly love the guy. Long ovations.
