Cano deal finalized today and the deal is a straight $24 M annually for the duration of the contract, which is a good deal for Seattle.

The expected drop in production as he ages is accompanied by a drop in real value of his salary, so unless Cano really falls apart, the M's maximize their value for this contract.

Surprised there was no option for 2015 due to the length of rehab he was expected to undergo when his injury was first diagnosed...

Per channel 7 news just now.

Good luck to both him and the Braves. He seems a bit fragile, as well as inconsistent. Maybe he'll be better off in the NL.
