Default Season Ticket Holder Meet & Autograph with A Garcia

Nice surprise in my email.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the Chicago White Sox. As a valued customer, we have organized a Meet and Greet Autograph Session with Avisail Garcia. You and a guest are invited on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Space is limited, so please RSVP no later than Monday, October 28, 2013 by 5:00 PM by replying to this email. The Season Ticket Holder on the account will be required to check in at the table located at Gate 3, and will be limited to ONE autograph per account.

I am a full season ticketholder not sure how far they are far they will extend this.
It was great when they used to give STH private signings at Soxfest years ago, this is a good start.

Not to sound ungrateful (and I'm not much for autographs), but why would I want Avisail Garcia's autograph? He's less than half my age. I would feel creepy approaching him and asking him to sign something. And if I was to get his autograph, what would I do with it?

I'm not sure what age has to do with it but I like to meet players and I do like to display White Sox memorabilia in my bar. Most people enjoy meeting players; look at the huge sports memorabilia industry. I won't wait in long lines like Soxfest to get an autograph but if I have a special opportunity I will take advantage of it.

To each its own.

I think this something new and unexpected that the Sox are doing for their customer base. I will renew either way but I know many STH's who are on the fence and the more you do to appreciate your customers the better your chance of retaining them.

So, two people are invited but only one can get his autograph. What kind of sense does that make?

Someone has to take your picture while getting the autograph, right?

People find a way to complain about anything.
If the Sox was giving $10 bills away, someone would have a problem with them not giving twenties out.

Asked my rep that same question. They can be in the photo op - doesn't make much sense to me either

Actually very nice. It was a small low key affair probably only premium box STHs. They had Garcia in the "learning center" - you waited in the scout lounge to get your auto (10 minutes) and then you had free beer and pop at the scout bar. Got to look at all of the memorabilia in the display case at the Scout lounge.
I went with my son and when we were in line they said that each person can get an auto. I only brought one baseball for my son because of the "rules" in the email. But Garcia had photo cards for signing if you didn't have anything.
Saw Brooks Boyer hanging around the event. Overall an nice perk.
