Trying to figure out which was more appropriate:

1. Witnessing three outs on the bases in the first three innings. Two of the plays were right in front of the base runners. I suggest mandatory eye exams during spring training physicals.
2. Watching them load the bases with one out in the ninth and then fail to put the ball in play with the next two hitters.

Glad this is over. Tough year to be a Sox fan.

I'm thinking a better theme for the TBGR would've been Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen.

This year's team is as bad as our WS team was good.
And let's not forget the 1983 team, the team they paid tribute to for the 30th anniversary of running away with the division all year, was also 99 - 63.

Way to make them look even better, guys.

Edit: And how fitting, how appropos, how 2013 White Sox it was to leave the tying runs on base to end today's game.
Edit II: Props to Wedema for mentioning the 1983 team record before me. And just why DIDN'T they wear those uniforms today? Becausse the laundry wasn't back from last night?

Congratulations JR, KW, Hahn, and company - you let this organization rot from a pennant contender in the mid 2000s to a bottom feeder today.
Next step, a quick rise to the top, floating belly up.

Thank god it's over, but kind of a sad exit for PK.

Very much in his style, and not drawing attention to himself, but still deserved a lot more.

I agree, but if it makes the Sox and Konerko feel better, this will always be the Paulie I remember:

The scary thing is, it's hard to see this team getting better anytime soon. There's not enough of a core to build around. The rational move would be to deliberately be terrible for several years and build up the farm system...but of course this is a team that has never proven it can develop talent.

I'm not envious of teams like the Red Sox and Yankees signing big-name FAs...any idiot with a checkbook can do that. But I am envious of the teams, especially the Red Sox and Cardinals, that manage to also regularly develop their own superstar players.

There were times during the summer when I wasn't sure I would, but I survived the 2013 White Sox!
