On another note, I had to watch the game on the MLB network, is it me or is Harold Reynolds the most annoying announcer ever? I'll take Hawk over this fool any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Agree 100%! I appreciate Hawk more when I hear announcers like Reynolds.

I'm not a fan of playing for draft picks. I'd much rather we play confident, hard baseball and build up chemistry and a winner's atmosphere.

Pete Rose should manage the team that does that.

Indeed!

I smile every time I see Avi run the bases. So great to see the Sox have a speed demon. I would love to have more kids like Garcia on the team.

Great at bat by Phegley last night and a fun win...GO SOX!!

October26 - Thank you to the 2005 World Series Champions Chicago White Sox!
October26 - Twenty-SEVEN years ago, I married my husband on October 26. Since that day, we have been blessed with a wonderful family. Then, on October 26, 2005, when the baseball gods bestowed their good fortunes upon us, we saw the White Sox win the World Series. An incredibly talented team of grinders made every Sox fan's dream come true. My family and I celebrated with reckless abandon. And now, we look forward to that day when our White Sox will once again be World Series Champions!

I really enjoyed the way they handled the Civil Rights Game stuff- especially the interviews in the booth- I've never seen Hank Aaron so relaxed and having so much fun. And for all the "Hawk haters"- Hawk was masterful with Hank in the booth- the sharing of stories and assessments of players from their common time in MLB was awesome- and for anyone who thinks Hawk is bs'ing with his stories and name dropping- he went through about 20 of them during the interview- and had Hank nodding, agreeing, laughing, etc.

Then Stone would interject his comments/questions- and the interview would go "dead"- then Hawk would get back in the game- and Hank was animated and laughing all over again.

On a separate note- during Friday night's game- I was listening on the radio- and when AJ came up for the first time- Farmer/DJ- barely ackowledged it- something about "one of many players on the 2005 team who contributed" from Farmer while DJ prattled on about some obscure Nelson Cruz stats- what a bunch of tools- neither of them had half the career AJ has had.

The two anecdotes are why I still love Hawk- and would happily see the other 3 sent packing in the offseason.

The ceremony was great as was the interview I heard.
I have a new found respect for Hawk since getting Satellite radio....he isn't the only ridiculous homer out there by a long shot.

I agree, it'd be one thing if this team was a bunch of crappy veterans just playing out the string, but there's a lot of young guys on this team that are going to be key pieces for this organizational rebound, if the Sox are winning, it's because guys like Garcia, Beckham, Phegley, Viciedo, Quintana, Reed, Sale, etc. etc. are playing well. I'll take that. We're still going to get a Top 10 Draft pick and a lot of money to spend on draft and international bonuses.

Two words: Mike Shannon.

He's somewhere between Hawk and Santo.

Poor John Rooney.

That was probably the worst call I've ever seen. His front foot, his back foot and his bum had all crossed the plate before the tag was applied.

Yeah, but the discrepancy between 10 and 3, for example, is huge...not that I'm advocating them throwing games, but I wouldn't be disappointed with a number of well played losses.
