I actually always do this. I think the red jerseys on both teams don't help.

ALEX RIOS. Teams in touch with the White Sox report they've asked for two top prospects, plus a "lesser" player, for Rios, without much luck. So at this point, it wouldn't be a shock to see the White Sox pull Rios back and put him on the market again this winter.
Those demands are ridiculous for Rios. I hope we lower them substantially and move him off the team. And Alexei and De Aza.

Personally, I'm glad that Hahn is asking for a lot and playing hardball with these guys. That being said, I'd still be pretty disappointed if something doesn't happen between now and Wednesday.

Well put and my sentiments exactly. Anxiously hoping that this doesn't get screwed up.

I wonder why no one is talking about Lindstrom, even just a dump at this stage.

He's effective against right handed hitters...lefties kill him. I'd think someone would want him for a C prospect.

The final offers are coming in for Peavy.

That's a crazy high price for Rios.

On the Peavy front, Jayson Stark is saying that Boston is willing to take on his contract, or give up prospects. Not both.

And he reiterates that we won't take on any salary. I don't get that - pay some salary, and then move Rios and Alexei to save salary. Those 2 need to go.

If it takes eating some of this money to get some of those Red Sox prospects then make it happen.

Mark Gonzales (in Cleveland, still reporting on the White Sox)

Crain can become a free agent after this season, so the Sox apparently are aiming to settle on compensation now rather than wait until after Wednesday's 3 p.m. (CDT) non-waiver trading deadline passes and get stuck negotiating with a team that is awarded the waiver claim on Crain.

Jayson Stark
"They're definitely trying to move him before he makes that start," said an executive of one team monitoring the Peavy talks.

tweeted that the Sox aren't willing to absorb any of the salary owed to Peavy, and that combined with health concerns is making Peavy a tougher sell.

I like the package the A's would offer but JR is not gonna sign off on sending Peavy's AND $24 mil to the A's. As a fan I could care less about $24 mil if it means getting 1 or more young stud players under team friendly rookie deals.
