Remarkably similar, except that Danks has been more durable (18 more wins, 18 more losses, 260 more innings). On that note alone I think it's fair to say the Sox "won" the trade. However, Danks really is a "league average #3 starter" and therefore consumes a disproportionately large chunk of the Sox payroll.

The universe is the practical joke of the General at the expense of the Particular, quoth Frater Perdurabo, and laughed. The disciples nearest him wept, seeing the Universal Sorrow. Others laughed, seeing the Universal Joke. Others wept. Others laughed. Others wept because they couldn't see the Joke, and others laughed lest they should be thought not to see the Joke. But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.

Even McCarthy admitted the White Sox "won" that trade, but Danks' numbers have really dropped off of late. When McCarthy signed with Oakland there was another thread that posted their numbers and Danks had much better numbers. Now McCarthy has changed his game a bit and has had some decent years in Oakland but he his hampered by a chronic shoulder problem. Danks might have it now as well though.

It would be nice if Danks could pitch well this season and allow Hahn to trade him for salary relief and a prospect. Coupled with expiring contracts for Floyd and Paulie, Hahn would then have a significant flexibility to fill multiple holes with free agents. Sale-Peavy-Quintana-Santiago-Axelrod is an acceptable rotation for 2014.
