I've seen Sox players give away tickets on Twitter.

When the Jake (at the time) first opened, you couldn't beg for tickets.

Now they're begging people to show up.

They were a good team then. Real good.

Maybe that is what the Sox should write down.

Well the Sox did try scooping up almost everyone from those Indians teams, unfortunately 10 years too late in most cases.

I'd suggest things like not getting picked off and knowing when your turn at bat is.

The Marlins are lying. I know every team says 'tickets sold', but the Marlins are fudging those numbers.

I'd be willing to bet there's plenty of corporate tickets in Miami that simply go unused. People like spending money there, whether its well spent or not.

Until the JaKe was built in Cleveland and they played in Municipal (mistake by the lake) Stadium, the Indians were always near the bottom in attendance in MLB. I didn't expect them to fall off as much as they have the last few years. They had nice run of sellout years during the Thome era. Where did all the fans go, besides what else is there to do in Cleveland after you've seen the Rock and Roll HOF.

I have not seen comparison figures for this year vs 2012 but I would bet that a lot of teams are down. The Red Sox are not selling out Fenway, The Yankees are not filling up the Stadium, the Cubs are down, the Phillies are not selling out. The Cards might be down. The Giants are still selling out and Detroit is doing well. Toronto is doing better.

I have a felling that fans across America are not going to shell out big bucks to watch MLB games as they have in the past, we saw that last year with the Sox. The cold spring might also have a lot to do with lower attendance figures in some places.

Just found this, its through games of May 5th.

I disagree with the article and some of the posters in this thread. I have been critical of the Sox's pricing structure in the past, but I think they have done a great job with that this season IMO. Attendance is actually slightly up from last year. Though they still should bring back the "Pirates" intro video. Of course winning will help attendance, but that is easier said than done.

Why would you think that? The economy overall currently is at worst even with how it was the last few years, if not better.
