Guys...I'm not talking about that he almost signed with them as I read the story they said the Sox signed him then almost traded him to Toronto. That's different, anyway you slice it.

Unless I'm misreading, it seems like the Sox barely entertained the idea of trading him, and were just a little curious as to whether they could do better than a compensatory pick.
