John Danks said he's ready to be healthy. Anticipates being ready for OD but obviously doesn't know what will happen during ST. Paul Konerko, Dewayne Wise, Keenyn Walker and Gordon Beckham are early arrivals among position players. Laurence Holmes Tyler Flowers very confident in his ability to handle #Whitesox staff. Ready to take control: "Don't want to go back to being a backup." Flowers has moved his locker next to Beckham aka AJ's old spot |

I would not be surprised if Danks is not ready by Opening Day.

I'd say there's a 65 percent chance he won't be. I know pitchers often say they're ready before they really are, but like Derrick Rose, I don't want Danks back before he's completely healthy.

This should be a holiday.
![]() Hope springs eternal. No matter what any egghead or BP may say, the White Sox do in fact have a chance to become the best baseball team of 2013. It won't be easy, by a long shot.

Anyone else thankful for the WBC this year?
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think we can all agree that it beats the grind of spring training games...after the first one or two I watch, spring training games become literally the dullest thing in the world.

I'm visiting some family in the Phoenix area and decided to swing by Camelback Ranch this morning. (Never been before.) Got to see several players and staff, at least in passing. Danks, Sale, Thornton, Keppinger, Molina, Castro, Robin, Herm, and KW. It was really neat. Chris Sale was nice enough to come over and take a picture with me and my kids. Super nice young man.
FWIW, Danks was out working on fielding and looked crisp throwing to each base.

John Danks earns a "really nice Johnny" from Tyler Flowers as he delivers a four-seam FB. First bullpen underway Big ticket item of the week begins now: John Danks' first bullpen in front of #WhiteSox http://yfrog.us/nlcitdyzqyltkyucbxjvuuelz … Pitching coach Don Cooper said to John Danks: "Really good John Danks. Better than I thought." Rotoinfo MLB #White #Sox : John Danks-P : Danks (shoulder) threw for 10 minutes Thursday, no issues http://bit.ly/Z0kMh2 Threw four different pitches, mostly for strikes. JD felt like there was life behind the ball. |

Flowers said Danks' curve hasn't looked this good, said velo down a tad but looked pretty good. Daryl Van Schouwen Flowers, who caught Danks, said the lefty's curve was better than he's ever seen. Changeup good. Velocity down a little, which was expected Dan Hayes Robin Ventura on this & last time had seen John Danks throw in '12: What he was going through, it’s a lot different right now. David Schuster Ventura says Brent Morel will be used at other spots in the infield during spring training |

I'm actually looking forward to this season. I'm intrigued to see what this team does this year.

Saw catcher Hector Gimenez chatting with Mark Parent. Gimenez' arrival was delayed until today because of visa issues. Scott Merkin Hahn does like the team's in-house options. Gimenez has only appeared in 11 games in the majors, he's received "a lot of praise from our pitchers and our coaching staff." Beyond Flowers and Gimenez, Hahn also said Bryan Anderson has the "potential to help us if need be." |
