Default Cubs sign Dontrelle Willis

Minor-league deal per Heyman. My, how he's fallen.

He hasn't been relevant since 2005, although he had a pair of mediocre years in 2006 and 2007. I wasn't sad when he came to Detroit and stunk.

He had a decent time in the minors (2011) for Louisville when he was playing and wasn't completely horrible when called up to the Reds. He quickly retired in 2012 surrounding an injury, so I was wondering if he would ever give it one more shot.

I don't blame the Cubs for making this move, certainly low risk. If he can get back to mediocre for them, he could be a serviceable 4th or 5th starter.

Guy was effective due to the combination of a funky delivery and being effectively wild. Once the league realized this they waited on him, made him prove he can throw a strike then killed it.

He'll finally get a chance to pitch for the organization that drafted him.

I'm not mad at him still getting paid for being terrible. In a way, that's respect too.

I thought he should have tried the Rick Ankiel approach.

My thoughts exactly. It's amazing how the Cubs manage the players they want after their performance has fallen off.

Kinda reminds me of a certain MLB team on the south side.

For those of you with young boys, it's never too soon to teach them to throw left-handed.

Can't wait until they pick up Chone Figgins in a year or so.
