There's also been talk about Upton. I'd be all for acquiring either one.

I just really want to see Dunn traded.. I'm hoping the Orioles get desperate because LaRoche will sign with Wash and Smoak isn't really an option.
I'd take pretty much anything for Dunn, but how great would it be to get Jonathan Schoop for him! I know, pipe dream! |

I would even do Kubel for Viciedo.
Yes, call me crazy. |

Sounds like they would trade Kubel because they have too many OFers.

Alexei for Kubel I would welcome. I think Alexei is on the decline. I would rather not have to give up a whole lot for him though.

![]() Sorry boys. Hope I'm wrong, but Viciedo has that hack approach at the plate which I don't think anyone can coach. I'll take the LH proven pop from Kubel for the next 2 years to try to win and I'll let another team deal with Vicideo's raw talent. |

The man has one full season under his belt. Unless you are a hitting coach, which I'm pretty sure you aren't, you don't know this.

So you would, in effect, sacrifice a position of strength defensively for an offensive player? And who would play shortstop? Don't we already have a LH power hitter that plays suspect defense?

Why is everyone excited about a guy that hit .176 after July 22nd last season?

SS is a positional strength, not one that we should be so quick to just give up. Shortstops who are good defensively and at least above average offensively (and in Ramirez's case, clutch) are very, very rare. I may not be all that old, but I know good talent when I've seen it play for the last 4+ years. Ramirez is a keeper. Trust me when I say that, unless this Sanchez kid in the minors can hit in MLB, most everyone is going to miss Alexei Ramirez when he eventually has to leave.

I would only make the trade if they could find another guy defensively, since up the middle defense was a strength last year. I still don't think Kubel is worth much.
