At this point I'm more disappointed in that salami, as I have Joaquin Benoit on my fantasy team (and my opponent has Morneau and Cabrera going in that game, as well), than I am in having a slim glimmer of hope that the Twins would win.

If the Twins can complete this huge comeback today, I can totally see it demolishing the Tigers' spirits. Get it done!

Morneau isn't what he used to be. He had a couple good pitches to hit from Valverde, but he couldn't connect.
Tigers 6, Twins 4, F.

Prince with a 2-run shot to put the Tigers up 2-1 in the 7th in Minnesota.
EDIT: Tigers win. Last edited by DSpivack; 09-30-2012 at 03:55 PM. |

Give the Tigers credit, they were under as much pressure as the Sox, if not more because they were behind with time running out.
Yet they got it done led by their superstars. Even more frustrating to me is that it seems as if Detroit was sleepwalking their way through the season, yet they still won the damn thing. Almost like they could turn it on whenever they needed to. Lip |

Tigers clinch. Can't say they backed in, given that they've won seven out of eight.
Nevertheless, the Sox died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. 3-10 in the last 13 games. Go 7-6 in those 13, it's still a one-game lead for Chicago. Just didn't happen. Really a shame. |

My dad turned on MLB Network, but I made him switch back to the Bears because I didn't wanna see the last out. Too painful to watch.

Congrats to the Tigers on their back-to-back Central Division titles.

Congrats to the Tigers. In crunch time these last few weeks they played like they wanted it while we didn't. I really thought the Sox would cruise with that 3 game lead, but Detroit took care of their own business.
That said, I hope the Yankees, Orioles or whoever hand them a 1st round playoff exit.

After great pain a formal feeling comes.
I'll figure out who to root for later. It won't be the Tigers. |
