Anyone else watching? The 2013 WBC qualifiers started yesterday and all games are being streamed for free online @ web.worldbaseballclassic.com
Isreal beat South Africa yesterday in Florida, and Great Britain is trailing Canada in Germany as I type this. The quality of play has been a bit higher than I expected. I for one really, really enjoy the WBC and am very happy I can watch this fall's contests online. |

Canada just mercy-rule walked off Great Britain. Final: Canada 11-GB 1.
Wheels came off pretty hard for GB since they were hanging around til the 7th. Spain-France tonight in Florida. |

Awesome. Does anyone know if these stream live, or are all the videos posted after the game?
Hilarious. There's a catcher named Petr Cech on the Czech team. I guess that's where you'd expect a goalie to play.

Streaming the qualifiers is a good marketing move by MLB to elevate the visibility of the WBC. Unfortunately, they're doing it during the pennant chase. Initially all the qualifiers were gonna be in November, but 2 of them got bumped to September for some reason. While it might not be big-name players, my guess is that the games will be competitive. |

Good luck to Spain, who won the FIBA Worlds in 06, the 08 and 12 Euros, and are the reigning World Cup champs. Imagine if they added a WBC to their resume...
