Young poised to put the game beyond reach--bases loaded, two outs in the bottom of the 7th.

EDIT: struck out. To the 8th we go...

Sanchez with a three-hit shutout through eight. Royals have only had one threat all night.

And the Tigers are three outs away from a tie for 1st place... Ugh! Figured these guys would catch up to the Sox sooner or later the way the Sox have been playing lately. Sad to think a week ago today the Sox had a 3 game lead on these ****ers. Damn!

Just 8 games left of torture. If we, as fans, can make it through this we can make it through anything.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

Well, tied for first, one week left. Both teams have 82 wins. Let's see what happens.

Ehh...Tigers had a starting pitcher step up. A back-of-the-rotation pitcher no less.

Porcello against Guthrie tomorrow. Advantage Royals on paper. So I hope.

Thanks, Royals.

I think I'll go watch the 1980s nuclear war film "The Day After," in which Kansas City is vaporized.

Please Note: I do not wish nuclear war on any municipality.

We oughta be ashamed of ourselves. We could have laid down the hammer and let them right back on top with us. Hope this gives us the right motivation for the rest of the way.

Yes, I know it's likely to come down to the end, but that doesn't make this any easier to take.

Thomas35:

What's regretable is that the Sox could have salted this away already but didn't or couldn't.

Noneck's right, it's an eight game season. Detroit now has new life and as Noneck also wrote they have three superstars to attempt to carry them home.

The way Detroit wasted so many chances, and only got the two runs in the first they got their second out, I was sure the Royals would come back. I was pretty sure they were going to get just the two runs tonight after they failed to scored in the second after loading the bases with no one out for the good hitters. Especially with Sanchez. And the Tigers have not been winning close games. But Sanchez gave the Tigers his best AL start when they needed it, on a night when they needed a win and couldn't score after taking an early lead.
